The Damal Youth Center is a youth development
initiative under the Damal Development Initiatives
organization, established in 2023 in Somalia.

The center focuses on empowering and developing the
country’s youth through various programs and
initiative.

Focus Areas

Skills Development

The center offers vocational training programs in areas such as entrepreneurship, computer programming, graphic design, and renewable energy technology. These hands-on workshops and courses are designed to equip youth with practical, market-relevant skills.

Digital Literacy

Recognizing the importance of digital competencies in the 21st century, the Damal Youth Center provides comprehensive digital skills training, including instruction in coding, web development, data analysis, and digital content creation.

Mentorship and Career Counseling

The center pairs young participants with experienced mentors from various professional fields. Through one-onone guidance and group sessions, the mentors help the youth develop their personal and professional goals, and navigate the challenges they face.

Civic Engagement

The Damal Youth Center organizes civic education programs that encourage young people to become active citizens, understand their rights and responsibilities, and participate in community-based initiatives and decision making processes.

Damal Development Initiatives

Damal is a non-governmental organization that operates in the Puntland region of Somalia, with its headquarters located in Garowe. The organization also maintains a sub-office in Bosaso to support its regional activities.
